HEDGEHOG AND DANDELION

My sister in the U.S. has a daughter-in-law who loves hedgehogs, so last May, I thought I would try drawing a cartoony one for her. A friend told me she really liked it, suggesting I add some floating dandelion seeds for atmosphere.

That sounded like a really good idea, only I didn’t know how to draw them—my artistic ability isn’t there yet. I have a pretty picture in my head of feathery white dandelion seeds floating through the air, but that’ll have to wait a while. I found a simple line illustration of dandelion seeds—so they’ll have to be just the black outline…there.

The first animal’s snout is a little too long and makes it look more like a mole than a hedgehog, and he’s almost as chubby as he is long, so I’ll try to slim him up a little. This time maybe the colors can be a little brighter…and maybe I can put a little red insect friend at his feet.

The six-legged feller encouraged me to keep practicing drawing dandelions, and this is what happened in February 2022:
